Stricklandgate House has a simple concept. It is a centre for voluntary organisations, for which it it provides accommodation, common services, a reception, and many other facilities.

The relationship between the Trust and the resident organisations is not simply that of landlord and tenant, as the Trust is a charity, a non-profit organisation itself and, historically, has found income to supplement its costs. There are many benefits to that relationship. Organisations share best practice with each other, can trade advice, support and make mutual referrals.
